The American Society of Civil Engineers at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville will be hosting the 2019 ASCE Southeast Student Conference, March 28-30, 2019. Rockin’ in the Smokies is headlined by six national competitions and eleven regional competitions, each celebrating music, mountains, and civil engineering.
The Southeast Student Conference hosts over 800 ASCE student members from more than 25 universities and is the largest regional gathering for civil engineering students in the United States. We are thrilled to host this conference for the first time since 2007 and again lead ASCE’s “SEC”.
The 2019 ASCE Southeast Student Conference is a challenging and expensive event to host, your financial support can help turn this once-in-a-decade opportunity into a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The 2019 ASCE Southeast Student Conference is an opportunity to showcase Tennessee’s booming civil engineering market. Our community is in the spotlight, and we need your help to steal the show!

Conference Funding
How much does the conference cost?
Recent ASCE Southeast Student Conferences have cost over $100,000 to host. The 2019 conference is projected to cost $125,000, the bulk of which will be spent on the venues and meals necessary to accommodate more than 1,000 attendees (including student members, faculty, staff, judges, and sponsors).
Why does the conference need sponsors?
ASCE Southeast Conference bylaws allow the host school to charge a $200 student chapter registration fee and a $55 student member registration fee. Registration fees generate approximately $50,000 toward the conference, while the host school is responsible for securing the remainder of the funds. Our projected funding gap is approximately $75,000.

Who?
All sponsors contributing $250 or more can reserve a booth and participate in the Sponsor Scavenger Hunt.
When?
Sponsor Scavenger Hunt will take place March 28, 2019, as ASCE Student Chapters are arriving at the conference.
Where?
Sponsor Scavenger Hunt will take place at World’s Fair Park and on the concourse of the Knoxville Convention Center.
Why?
Sponsors of previous conferences have remarked that the engagement with attendees is the most rewarding part of the sponsorship. We want to facilitate this engagement!
